Based on the acclaimed, best-selling British novel by Benjamin Myers, The Offing will be directed by EMMY-winning director Jessica Hobbs. Set in the aftermath of WWII, The Offing follows 16-year-old ROBERT as he leaves his mining village for one summer of freedom before he starts work down the mine. On reaching the coast, he encounters DULCIE (Helena Bonham Carter), a forthright, bohemian woman three times his age who lives alone in a rambling cottage. Their chance meeting sparks a riotous friendship that conquers barriers of age, class and world view and changes the course of both of their lives.
